Irregular folks

Step into the candlelit world of haunted ballads, spectral voices, and tales from the beyond…

Cellist-singer Laura Moody launches her brand new Halloween EP Haunted at The Nest, Oxford, with a spine-tingling evening of music and storytelling. Inspired by Victorian women’s ghost poetry and performed with nothing but voice and cello, Laura conjures a soundworld that is dark, atmospheric, and deliciously eerie.

She’s joined by much-loved Oxford folk singer Ian Giles (Magpie Lane, The Oxford Waits), renowned for his rich, characterful performances of English traditional song — and by a special guest storyteller, who will share uncanny tales to chill and delight.

Expect ghost stories, spook folk, and spectral songs in a playful, spine-prickling celebration of the strange and supernatural. Goosebumps guaranteed.
