Safer Spaces
YWMP is running a 2-year project funded by Youth Music that will create a policy with procedures on how to make grassroots live music venues safer and more accessible for all demographics, particularly marginalised people.
With partners across the UK, YWMP has run a Safer Spaces Exchange. Each event explored the challenges, barriers, and attitudes towards safer spaces in live music venues.

Your Voice Matters!
The Safer Spaces Team has created a survey that you can participate in to share your experiences and insights. Your participation in this survey is completely anonymous - we collect no personal information beyond your survey answers, and your responses will not be traceable back to you.
Your feedback will directly influence the Safer Spaces Policy, ensuring it addresses real issues faced in live music settings.
Filling out the survey and sharing it with friends would help us out hugely!
Help us make live music safer and more inclusive for everyone. Your experiences and opinions are invaluable to this mission. Thank you for your support!

Next year, YWMP will be back to trial the Safer Spaces Policy at 5 events in the same cities.
Over the course of the next year, a steering committee is creating a Safer Spaces Policy that addresses the safety issues that frequently occur at live music events.
The policy will take into account outcomes of the conversations held at the Safer Spaces Exchange events, and will be further developed through research and development with key stakeholders including venue owners, promoters, musicians and other organisations campaigning for safer spaces.
