Safer Spaces
Following a multi-year project funded by Youth Music and Arts Council England, YWMP and the Safer Spaces Steering Committee has created a Safer Spaces policy with procedures on how to make grassroots live music venues safer and more accessible.
The policy has been developed following a national consultation phase with a Safer Spaces Exchange involving partners across the UK, and training and nationwide research conducted by the Safer Spaces Steering Committee.
The policy is now being trialled and improved at events at The Nest.
Want to help us run the Safer Spaces policy at events?
Our volunteers make sure event attendees feel welcome into our space as they walk in, and support them should an incident arise, following the policy's procedure, with YWMP staff support always available.
