An afternoon with F*Choir at The Nest, Oxford
F*Choir is a 70-strong, queer-led ensemble that radically reimagines what choral singing can be - bold, high-energy, full-body music that celebrates collective liberation, joy, and embodied resistance.
We’re rising from the ashes of winter, stoking the embers inside our collective bodies to deliver a burst of flames; bright and hot and NEW.
That’s right: new music. Tonnes of it.
Come and warm your bones with original compositions and fiery arrangements of songs by Cleo Sol, Kate Nash, Katerina Gimon and JADE, alongside a bunch of beloved F* bangers.
The Nest is Oxford’s first independent, inclusive music space centring young women, trans, and non-binary people by our friends at YWMP. For London F*ans, it’s only a short journey on the Oxford Tube.

DJ Set ++ Zahra Haji Fath Ali Tehrani is an Iranian-Irish composer and multi-instrumentalist whose music explores the emotional terrains of intimacy, memory, and belonging through experimental sound. Based in Oxford and rooted in both Irish and Iranian heritage, Zahra creates genre-defying compositions that blend lo-fi jazz punk, shoegaze, and folk influences into raw, contemporary expressions of identity and queerness.

Founded by composer and multidisciplinary artist Jenny Moore and co-led with Sophie Chapman and Bianca Stephens, F*Choir is a groundbreaking community choir that rejects traditional music methods. They draw on the work of criminally underrepresented women, trans, non-binary, and queer artists to perform full-body percussive earworms. At its core, F*Choir is about claiming the right to our own voices as people who have been historically marginalised and excluded.
Having captivated audiences across the UK and beyond, F*Choir has performed sold out gigs at iconic venues such as Milton Court - programmed by the Barbican, EartH Hackney, Bishopsgate Institute, Wellcome Collection and the MOTH Club.
Audience feedback from our sold-out Barbican show:
“F*Choir took us on a profound song journey of magic realism with raw emotions & colourful surprises”
“It wasn’t just an auditory experience - the high I felt was visual, somatic, existential… every single cell of mine felt seen."
"F*Choir is one of the most radical and hope-giving choirs I’ve ever witnessed… genderless, borderless songs that champion the earth, our bodies, our rage, and our desperate will to breathe against the machine."
